How to Block Ads Without Root

Advertising has become an excellent way to earn money online with blogs or website or even by Android apps building. Most of the Android apps are free which you can download from Google play store.

In the app store, you can see two kinds of app i.e. free and paid. The free version of the app contains a lot of advertisements or pop-up ads that take over Notification area and screen while in paid apps, developers do not integrate advertisements.

Most of the Android requires root access to get administrative privileges, but there are so many Android smartphones that can't be rooted. So, in this tutorial, I will show you three ways to remove ads from free Android apps with or without root.

1st way

Adblock Plus(Beta)  [No Root Required]

Adblock Plus is one the most popular Android app extension which is also available for desktop. It not only help you to disable ads from an android app but also from web browsers like Chrome and Firefox.

Install and configure Adblock plus:

1. First download and install Adblock Plus on your Android phone as usual.
2. For a rooted device, Adblock Plus automatically select a suitable filter subscription for you the first time it runs. But for a unrooted device, you need to manually set up a proxy on your Android device. You can follow their tutorial here.

3. After configuring the Adblock Plus, it automatically starts to block annoying ads on your apps and games. That's it

Other alternatives for Adblock Plus are Adaway, Disconnect, Privacy Badger, Droid app, etc.

2nd way

Block ads on Android using Lucky Patcher without Root

Lucky patcher has been introduced by Chelpus to prevent or remove ads from android apps quickly without root. This app not only remove Google ads but also YouTube ads, Adchoices very easily.

1. First download and install Lucky patcher ( http://goo.gl/XDmxUc) as usual.
2. Now, launch the app.
3. You can see a list of application that you installed on your device.
                   

4. Just tap on an app on which you want to disable ads.
5. And, then you can see a list of menu, then tap on Open menu of patches just like below,
                   

 6. And, the a pop-up option will appear. Then tap on that as usual. Like below,
                                             

7. Then again pop-up options will appear. Then tap on rebuild inApp.
8. Now, wait until Lucky patcher removes ads from the Android app.
9. When patched successful, then it displays Patch result.
                   

10. And, then tap on 'Go to file. And then install as usual. That's it.

3rd way

Disable ads on Android app by editing Hosts file

This method requires root access to edit the host file on your Android device.


1. First, Root your Android mobile from here.
2. Then, open ES file explorer or any other.
3. Now, download this hosts file and save it as hosts.txt 4. Then, copy this hosts file to your Android device using Bluetooth or data cable.
5. Now,  again move the hosts.txt file to the root directory (i.e. /etc or system/etc).
                                     

6. Your Android may ask for permission. Then do it as usual.
7. Restart your phone. That's it.

Lenovo Launched Turbo Variant of Vibe P1 with 16 MP camera

Lenovo has launched Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo. This Phone is advanced version of Lenovo Vibe P1. Phone is currently available in Indonesia. There is no official news about its global launch but it may hit Indian market soon. In Indonesia phone is priced IDR 3,999,000 i.e roughly INR 20000/-. Camera of the phone is enhanced as compared to Vibe P1. All the specs seems similar to previous phone.

Processor & RAM:

Vibe P1 turbo is powered by 1.5 GHz QUALCOMM snapdragon Octa-core processor along with Adreno 405 GPU. This processor unit is clubbed with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal space. To expand storage it has a SD card slot up-to 128 GB. Processor unit is good enough for multi-tasking and gaming. 

Operating System:

Vibe P1 Turbo is running on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and Vibe user interface on top of it. There is no news about its further upgrade to marshmallow but we can expect that it will receive Android 6.0 soon.

Camera:

It spots 16 Mega pixel of rear camera with auto focus and LED flash. There is a mismatch in specs i.e. also mentioned 13 MP camera. For selfie purpose it has 5 MP front facing camera. Picture quality is great on this phone and it contains a lot of details.

Display and Design:

Phone comes with 5.5 inch full HD IPS display with 1080p resolution and 401 PPI. Viewing angles and colours of display are very good. Dimensions of the phone are 75.6x9.9x152.9 mm and it weights 187 grams. Phone is 9.9 mm thick and quite heavy but look-wise phone is good.

Battery and Others:

Phone is backed with 4900 mAh battery and comes with fast charging support.  Mobile supports 4G LTE band in India. It also comes with connectivity options like NFC, USB OTG, FM Radio, A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, and Wi-Fi Hotspot. 

It also features proximity, Ambient light, Accelerometer sensors.  Phone has 4 colour variants as Silver, Graphite Gray, and Gold.

• Tutorial Flash Lenovo S660

1. Download and extract the SP Flash Tool and Mediatek USB VCOM drivers
2. Install the driver if not already installed
3. Download and extract your ROM package and find the scatter.txt file.
4. Run Flash_tool.exe then click Scatter-loading button to load the correct scatter file
5. Turn off your phone, remove the battery and replace it after some seconds (and don't turn on the phone).
6.  Press F9 (or hit Download button) and connect your phone into the computer via USB data cable. The process will start and a red progress bar will appear.
7. After the red progress bar is complete, there will appear a purple progress bar.
8. Right after the purple progress bar is complete, a message will appear underneath it:
   “Please insert USB cable in x seconds” and then the download will start right away (you will see the yellow progress bar filling up).
9. When the yellow bar is complete, you'll get a popup with a green circle and Download OK message, which means that the process has been successfully terminated.
10. You can now safely disconnect your phone and turn it on. The process ends here.

Samsung Galaxy A5 and A7

Samsung launched 2 new smartphones Galaxy A7 and Galaxy A5 in India. A5 is priced 29400/- while A7 is priced 33400/-. Sale for these smartphones will start from 15 February on Snapdeal and all offline retailers. Both phones are coming with fingerprint scanner. Samsung has also announced 30 GB of free data for 6 months with Airtel.

Processor RAM and Memory:

Both phone are powered by Exynos 7580 octa-core processor clocked at 1.6 GHz. Processor of A7 is clubbed with 3 GB RAM while A5 is clubbed with 2 GB RAM. Both has 16 GB internal storage and a SD card slot upto 128 GB. 

Operating System: 

These smartphones are running on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. There is no further news about Marshmallow upgrade but We can expect it in near future.

What to keep in Mind While Buying Smartphone?

Today's smart world is empty without smartphone but do you ever think of that what a smartphone should have? Selection of brand  completely depends upon user.  Here I have the list of the features and requirements for a best smartphone. 

OPERATING SYSTEM:

There are so many operating systems but some trending and best operating system are android, iOS, Windows etc.

iOS: A big reason to select iOS is that its application are so selected and hanging problem is far away from it. All super-hot apps and games hits iOS first than any other OS. To own a Apple device you should have a good amount.

ANDROID: Android is trending worldwide as it is open source i.e. any mobile company can use it by taking permission from Google. You will get so many variants of smartphones wear Android OS. Most important thing while buying a smartphone is checking the version of Android OS. Android 6.0 Marshmallow is the latest version. If you want to enjoy the hot games and apps at less price then you can go for it. 

WINDOWS: Windows is also one of the optimized OS, but it is not so popular in the market as Android and iOS but it also has its own values.  After the release of windows 10, some windows OS feature are enhanced.

Size of the phone depends upon user. Some user wants handy phone so 4.5 to 5.2 inch display size is perfect. Some users love to play videos and games on big display so go for 5.5  to 6 inch display.

Design and Look:

This is most important part of phone. About 95% users wants to have phone with great look and design. Phone with better screen to body ratio and metal design looks pretty. Slim phones with symmetric design looks pretty.

Camera:

Without camera phone can never be smart. Phone should have at least 8 or 13 MP camera. Quality of the camera does not  depends upon Mega pixels so be careful and ask a review to other users or tech bloggers for more details about camera. Now a days selfie is more popular in India so check for the front camera.

RAM and Internal:

If you are going to buy a android smartphone then RAM is the major issue. As you will play high end games you will require RAM so that your phone will not slow down. Today android smart-world is empty without 2 GB of RAM. As you will get some software update and the newer software may require high RAM so you should take care of it.

Internal storage required for the phone should be at least 8/16 GB so that you can store all the apps into the internal storage. It should have SD card slot. If your phone does not have expandable slot then it should have at least 16 GB or 32 GB internal otherwise later you will suffer.

Network and Connnectivity:

In India 4G LTE is supported. Most of the network providers are giving 4G facility in the 3G rates. So check that phone supports 4G or not. Basically all smartphones has Wi-Fi,  GPS, Hotspot, EDGE/GPRS, 3G etc. In some of the smartphones FM is absent, If you love to play FM then check it.

Battery:

Battery backup is major issue for smartphones. Backup of the battery also depends upon screen size and Pixel density of the phone. So the minimum battery for phone is given below.
